The regions of Miskolc and Košice have many museums, mineralogy collections, old mining areas, unique technologies and mining archives, which are the basic conditions for the successful establishment of mining tourism. Through the project, a new modern interesting product (mining route) and related services were created, including centres for the study of historical mining documents and a visitor centre network in Miskolc, Rudabánya, Telkibánya and Gelnica. The project helped to map the mining locations and remains of historical mining activities in the countryside nearby mining towns. Based on this information, a geographical information system was created. |
