The next phase has started.
121 proposals were submitted before the deadline at the Joint Technical Secretariat. 125 further proposals were sent by post.
After several technical discussions, the first Call for Proposals was developed in a form likely to be as final. The joint decision making body of the programme, the Joint Monitoring Committee received these documents, which afterwards it approved in a written procedure.
The second Monitoring Committee meeting was held in Slovakia, the Mojmírovce castle on the 21st of May, 2008.
For each Operational Programme financed by the European Commission, a plan has to be prepared to describe the communication strategy of the programme for the whole period.

The first meeting of the Joint Monitoring Committee was organised in Budapest on the 14th February, 2008. This was the official formulation of this committee to draft its rules of procedures, finalising its composition, which was defined to be in balance between the two sides of the border. The basic documents to regulate its work were also discussed and approved.
The European Commission, on the last working days before the Christmas holidays has approved the Hungary-Slovakia Cross-border Co-operation Programme for the 2007-2013 period.
The co-operation programme between the Hungarian and Slovak border territories was re-submitted to the European Commission on the 14th of November 2007. official approval is expected to be gained 4 month later according to the available information.
